Sync Wrike with Jira

Short answer

Install Wrike Sync for Jira from the Atlassian Marketplace. It keeps a Wrike project and a Jira space in sync both ways, and your projects, tasks and subtasks keep their nesting in Jira. Setup takes about 15 minutes, and it's free if your Jira site has 10 users or fewer.

How to sync Wrike with Jira

It takes about 15 minutes, and you don't need a consultant.

  1. Install Wrike Sync for Jira

A Jira admin installs it from the Atlassian Marketplace.

  2. Connect Wrike

Sign in to Wrike from inside Jira.

  3. Map a project to a Jira space

Shim suggests which Wrike fields go to which Jira fields, and how tasks and subtasks fit Jira's hierarchy.

  4. Check the preview and run a test

See every issue Shim will create, then run it on 5 tasks. Undo the test if something's off.

  5. Go live

Shim does the rest, and keeps Wrike and Jira in sync from then on.

Wrike and Jira sync questions

Can I sync Wrike and Jira for free?

Yes, if your Jira site has 10 users or fewer, and you get every feature. After that, the price goes by how many users your Jira site has, starting at $50 a month for 50 users.

Does it sync both ways?

Yes. Change something in Wrike and it shows up in Jira, and the other way around. If someone changes the same field on both sides, you pick which side wins (or have Shim ask you), and Shim hangs on to the other value in case you want it.

Do Wrike subtasks sync?

Yes. Subtasks stay under their tasks in Jira. Shim starts with projects as epics, tasks as stories and subtasks as sub-tasks, and you can pick a different issue type for each level.

Does it sync comments and attachments?

Yes. Comments sync both ways, and each one shows who wrote it. Attachments show up on the Jira issue too.

What Wrike plan do I need?

Any plan works, Free included. Shim sees the same projects and tasks as whoever signs in to Wrike.

Will it delete anything?

No. Shim never deletes tasks or issues, and it won't stomp on a value someone changed since the last sync.

Does it work with Jira Data Center or Server?

No, just Jira Cloud.
